About Owner Laurie

Laurie Strimavicius (pronounced: strih-mah-VEE-chus) is a devoted family woman, celebrated dog trainer, and engaging seminar host dedicated to elevating the bond between humans and their canine companions. Married to Tom Strimavicius, she and her husband are proud parents to two daughters, Sarah and Emma, and guardians of five beloved dogs: four Labrador Retrievers—Ever, Mary Elizabeth, Stormy, and Salty—as well as a famously charismatic Basset Hound named Francis—all of whom are part of the vibrant, dog-loving family behind TRAIN M.E.

Laurie finds immense joy in helping others progress on their own training journeys, combining technical skill with heartfelt support. Whether in the ring or at home, her work is rooted in respect, clarity, and a shared love for dogs.

Laurie demonstrates exceptional expertise in AKC (American Kennel Club) Obedience competitions, where she has earned multiple OTCH (Obedience Trial Champion) titles and perfect 200 scores. She is not only excelling in competitions but also competing in the most prestigious events in the field - including Westminster and the National Obedience Championship.

Train M.E. wouldn’t be possible without Labrador Retriever, Mary Elizabeth (hence M.E.), Laurie’s Novice A dog, who brought her on an incredible journey to her first OTCH (Obedience Trial Champion title). Laurie’s passion and enthusiasm to learn more in the world of dog training cultivated from her cherished partnership with M.E. As the founder, owner, and head trainer at TRAIN M.E. — a premier dog training venue in Connecticut — Laurie brings her passion for teaching both dogs and their handlers to life. Her mission is to help both thrive - building confidence, solving challenges, and achieving excellence together.
